Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma on Wednesday sent a legal notice to an entertainment portal and its editor, for allegedly publishing defamatory articles against him. Sharma has sought a public apology and Rs 100 crore in damages from the said journalist and the website. Sharma has claimed that the said journalist allegedly published “false, malicious, fraudulent" against him on the digital platform, reports PTI. “In view of the articles by Lalwani on Spotboye to willfully defame my client, we have sent them a legal notice to publicly apologise within seven days failing which we will institute civil and criminal proceedings against both,” Sharma’s advocate Tanveer Nizam said in a statement. It claimed damages “to the tune of Rs One Hundred Crore to be deposited in National Defence Fund”. Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma, who has been in the news for controversies and trouble in his professional and public life, says he is trying to change his lifestyle and will come back with a new show soon. After his abusive rant on Twitter in April, Kapil returned to the micro-blogging website on Thursday to share an update about his health and his lifestyle.  "Hello friends. Hope all well. Let's have a chat...till then listen to this Punjabi dance number by my friends Dr Zeus and Zora Worldwide," he tweeted late on Thursday. 

Kapil Sharma, who has been missing from the scene for quite some time, returned to Mumbai on Tuesday night. The actor-comedian was spotted at the airport with his pet, an adorable furry dog. Kapil was reportedly staying outside the country following his abusive rant on Twitter in April.  Earlier, Kapil had informed his fans via a tweet that he had gained some weight, but would work hard to get back into shape. In April, Kapil made headlines drawing bad press when an audio call in which he was heard hurling abuses at a journalist, was made public. Many of his fans were shocked to see this side of their favourite entertainer.  Last year, he had a mid-air fight with his colleague, comedian Sunil Grover.
